Creating gingerbread houses was the perfect way to relax right before finals week. This undergrad and graduate event was a hit–check out some of the impressive gingerbread houses that were constructed!

We loved getting to work with high school students to build a “programmable garden”. The students programmed an arduino to automate the watering of a plant through a humidity sensor.

12 members of SWE attended the WE16 national SWE conference in Philadelphia PA. The event was inspiring and productive for all who attended! We’re excited to report that our section received two awards! Additionally, all of the undergraduate members who attended received interviews—and many currently have internship or job offers!

GradSWE was delighted to host a storytelling workshop by author and award-winning PBS filmmaker Charles Vogl, who gave a two hour interactive workshop for over 40 students! 

GradSWE members welcomed new students to the group this fall while eating delicious frozen yogurt. We loved getting to share our mission with everyone! Keep your eyes peeled for our fall events.

The Yale SWE section received its charter at the Region F Conference hosted at West Point on Saturday, February 27.  This was the culmination of more than a year of work by the Yale SWE section and represents the growth of SWE at Yale over the past 3 years.  Without the dedication and hard work of both our grad and undergrad members, this would have been impossible.  

SWE and WISAY (Women in Science at Yale) joined forces to host a BBQ for our members.  Drawing attendees from across the STEM fields at Yale, a fun time was had by all!
