Yale SWE members had a successful weekend at WELocal Providence. Congratulations to Bridget Hegarty for winning the SWE Regional Collegiate Emerging Leader Award and Fourth Place in the Graduate Research Competition, and to Jenna Ditto for winning First Place in the Graduate Research Competition!

Creating a Culture of Belonging: A Workshop with Charles Vogl

We were honored to host Charles Vogl, an award winning leadership author, speaker, executive coach, and Yale alumnus. He draws from the realm of spiritual traditions to understand how individuals build loyalty, strengthen identification with a community, and motivate actions consistent with group values. These principles apply to both secular and spiritual leadership.

October 2017

WE17 the largest conference for women engineers, was a huge success held in Austin, Texas! Yale SWE was honored to obtain 3 awards: collegiate gold award, best practices mentoring, and SWE resource promotion. Bridget Hegarty was chosen from a competitive pool of applicants to present her poster, in addition to giving updates and insight at our Region meeting.

High School Engineering Day

June 2017

During the 2017 High School Engineering Day, we helped students create customizable motion-sensing LED bracelets. We hope that students were able to gain confidence in their engineering skills through conquering intimidating tasks like wiring a breadboard and understanding Arduino code!
